If you have spent time with me - you will know that i have a LOVE / HATE relationship with leggings! In my mind - you either wear them WELL or NOT AT ALL!
The crazy thing is that Leggings tell the truth, they dont sugar coat anything and if you dont apply 4 basic principles you can look really awful! Take note my friends:
Leggings rule No.1
Buy the correct size! They should not be too tight or too loose.The correct fitted leggings will give you the most comfortable feeling to boost your confidence. For some body types that have extra cellulite on your legs or 'double knees' ( fat that sits ontop of your knee)leggings are not an option for you - Move on to some fabulouse straight legged trousers that will float beautifully over those problem areas! They are actually more slimming than Leggings, especailly if you wear the trousers with a heal.
Leggings rule No.2
Leggings are not pants but wear leggings as pants.When you you do, pair them with a longer jacket or top. Leggings and tunics are a good match.You never want to see your crotch and any sign of 'camel toe'.
Leggings rule No.3
Choose proper shoes to wear with leggings. They look brilliant with sandals, flip-flops, knee high boots,with moccasins and ballet flats also and even with low-cut boots. Black shoes with black leggings will give you a tall look. Avoid chuncky looking shoes as they will give your leg a heavy, stumpy look!
Leggings rule No.4
Know about your workplace dress code. Leggings can be looked as casual and playful but some offices are not in favour of them.There is always a time and place for everything.Question yourself, are they presenting me in the best light?
