For as long as I can remember I have wanted to wear glasses. I have many 'pretend ' pairs and pick and choose when i want to give myself a more intelligent persona. But I have just gone for an eye test and they have told me that I now need to wear them and I just don’t have one prescription, but two!
So now comes the dilemma of trying to figure out what type of frames do I want and what do I want them to convey when I wear them?
There are the big, bold black frames that look super trendy - BUT I’m going to look crazy if I wear my sassy oversized necklaces and ear rings. You need to minimalize your accessories when you wear bold frames.
There are the 'naked' frames that have no rim - just lenses and they look as if you aren’t wearing glasses at all, unless you look closely! Pretty cool - but I don’t want to look like a nana before my time.
Then there are frames that are brightly coloured and exude personality! Do I really need any more of my personality shown...those of you who know me, realise that i don’t have any problems in this area...the more important fact is, i would hate to be wearing pink frames and i want to wear a red lipstick. CLASH right there!
I am very quickly realising how you need to put a lot of thought into this before making the purchase. Think about where and when you will need to wear those glasses and if your wardrobe, hair colour and make-up routine will need to be tweaked. Oh the JOY of getting older!
